Uranus in Gemini by one of my favourite astrologers- Rob Brezsny

Uranus entered Gemini on July 7. It will retrograde back into Taurus from November 7 through April 25, 2026, but will then re-enter and remain in Gemini until May 22, 2033.
Here are events that correspond with the last three times Uranus was in Gemini:
• The American Revolutionary War: Uranus entered Gemini just before the First Continental Congress and remained there through much of the war: 1774 – 1782
• The American Civil War: Uranus was in Gemini from 1859 to 1866, fully encompassing the Civil War years.
• World War II: Uranus entered Gemini in August 1941, just before the U.S. entered World War II, and remained there through the end of the war, until 1948.
Uranus in Gemini has directly correspond to eras of upheaval and transformation in U.S. history.
Uranus in Gemini: Wake Up and Wake Up and Wake Up Some More
Uranus has entered Gemini. It will return to Taurus between this November and April 2026, but will then re-enter and remain in Gemini until 2033.
For Americans—and the global population Americans impact—this isn't a routine planetary transit. It will bring disruptions, some creatve and some chaotic, to everything we thought we knew about reality, communication, and the nature of truth.
Every time Uranus has crashed into Gemini, America has convulsed with tumultuous fevers of redefinition: the Revolutionary War, Civil War, World War II, and NOW.
1774: Our revolutionary ancestors overflowed with seditious thoughts, nurturing dangerous ideas about freedom and self-governance.
The First Continental Congress, where the seeds of the upcoming revolution sprouted, convened a few weeks after Uranus’s entrance into Gemini. It wasn't a casual gathering of disgruntled colonists. It was the initial conspiratorial assembly of mutant insurrectionists.
They were channeling the electric chaos of Uranus through the quicksilver intelligence of Gemini. The ultimate result was the birth of a new nation that dared to imagine an unprecedented form of government, as flawed as it turned out to be.
+
1859: When Uranus returned to Gemini, America faced its own hideous shadow in the most brutal way imaginable. The Civil War was primarily about the crime of slavery—and the fundamental schizophrenia of a nation that claimed to love freedom while enslaving millions.
On the eve of the Civil War, one out of every eight Americans was enslaved! And in the South, one out of every two Americans was enslaved!
Gemini, the sign of duality, forced America to confront its own split personality.
The telegraph lines hummed with Uranian electricity, spreading news and ideas faster than ever before. Brother fought brother not just on battlefields but in the realm of ideas, as the nation's collective imagination was torn apart, and only partially rebuilt. This was Uranus in Gemini at its most wrathful and necessary.
Do you know about the Carrington Event? It happened in early September 1859, a few months after Uranus went fully into Gemini. It was the most intense geomagnetic storm in recorded history, the result of a Coronal Mass Ejection from the sun.
If a Carrington-level solar event happened today , it would cripple global telecommunications—from the internet and telephony to satellite and military systems—with cascading effects on daily life, commerce, security, and emergency response. Let’s hope that’s not in this round of Uranus in Gemini’s provocations.
+
1941: By the time Uranus entered Gemini again, America and the world were primed for a primal reshuffling. World War II was the most extensive and murderous military conflict in history. Over 80 million people perished, about 3.5 percent of the world’s population.
It was also an ideological war fought on radio waves and in the collective unconscious. The United States was embroiled in the global showdown between fascism and democracy.

Now: It's July 2025, and Uranus is once again rumbling through Gemini. This time its upheavals and reinventions are coming for our relationship with information, cognition, learning, and truth. And who knows how it will ransack and remake our structures and systems?
Gemini, ruled by Mercury, governs communication, technology, and the systems of information that connect and inflame us. Uranus, as the planet of sudden and unpredictable change, may shake up these networks, perhaps in ways that are disruptive, chaotic, and exhilarating. Are we ready for surprises? Mass media, social platforms, and even knowledge and education could be deranged and rearranged. We should expect shake-ups.
The breakdown of established hierarchies? Let’s hope so! Uranus’s rebellious rambles may spark new and more decentralized forms of knowledge dissemination.
Technologies that once seemed cutting-edge could either be disrupted by innovations or become obsolete, while novel platforms and methods of communication could emerge. This could lead to an even more fragmented and more personalized experience of reality.
The lines between fact and fiction, truth and propaganda, may continue to become increasingly blurry—unless we resolve to bring the Uranian revolution all the way into our deepest ways of knowing the world, in which case there could be healing outbreaks of discernment, acuity, and intelligence.
Uranus in Gemini may incite convulsions affecting institutions that have historically controlled knowledge and communication. At its best, this could be a digital-age renaissance, where ideas once marginalized find platforms and established forms of corruption are questioned.
How do we define and understand truth? Prepare for shocks—some friendly and some not. Or better yet, how about if we seek out and generate our own friendly shocks?
As systems of authority—political, corporate, educational—are besieged by the comic agitation for renovation, we may see the emergence of new models of governance and new forms of collective resilience and intelligence. It’s not unreasonable for us to hope that this results in enhanced levels of adaptability and openness to change.
Just as the revolutionary ideals of the 18th century, the moral reckoning of the 19th century, and the ideological battles of the 20th century reshaped America and the world, Uranus’s current passage through Gemini will transform the course of our collective evolution. Two key questions to ask: How will these changes manifest? More importantly, how can we harness them creatively and consciously?
But wait! There are key caveats to everything I just said. Here's what the fearmongers and doom-peddlers don't want us to understand: This isn't the end of the world. It's the beginning of a new one. And we are not victims of this transformation—we are co-creators.
We are being asked to hold contradictions without needing to resolve them. To be simultaneously serious and playful, rational and intuitive, skeptical and believing.
The fundamentalists of all stripes—the MAGA brutes, the religious fanatics, the militant atheists, the political extremists, the academic gatekeepers, the practitioners of scientism—they are all going to hate this energy, because it refuses to play by their rigid rules.
+
Here's what the ultra-hyper-serious people don't understand: The cure for our collective madness isn't just more and more and more grave, dour opinions. It includes playfulness. Irreverent devotion, holy pranks, and compassionate tricks. Styles of thinking and modes of discernment that transcend, outflank, and nullify fundamentalism.
Gemini energy is inherently mischievous. Uranus in Gemini multiplies it by a hundred. It's the cosmic jester who reveals profound truths through jokes, paradoxes, and skillful, nuanced thinking. As Uranus electrifies us, we're being invited to become sacred troublemakers, souls who disrupt the status quo not just through anger but through laughter, questioning, and curiosity.
The fundamentalists want us to take everything personally and literally. Uranus in Gemini wants us to take nothing personally and everything symbolically. It's asking us to become fluent in the language of metaphor, to see the cosmic comedy in human drama, to find the divine jokes hidden in every crisis.
+
We're standing at the threshold of unprecedented transformation. The coming years will test everything we think we know about reality, communication, and consciousness itself. The question isn't whether we're ready—the question is whether we are willing to wake up to our higher calling.
We're not just passive observers of this cosmic drama. We're active participants in humanity's next evolutionary leap. Every conversation we have, every idea and feeling we share, every moment of authentic connection we create is adding to the collective field of possibility.
The old world is dying, and the new one is struggling to be born. We're not just watching this process; we are midwives. So we don’t need to wait for permission to be revolutionary. We can shed any belief we might have that someone else is going to save the world.
The cosmos is calling us to be divine disrupters, sacred rebels, walking contradictions who contain multitudes and aren’t afraid to let them all dance together.
Welcome to the revolution.
