Leo Season

Leo is a Fire sign that is ruled by the Sun and their key phrase is "I Will!" Leos are the Queens and Kings of the zodiac and we are all their subjects over whom they RULE!

Thing is- Leos are also very squishy, as they have a surprising amount of insecurity. Their confidence coin has an exact opposite side. 

Leo is the sign of the ego and they hate being humiliated. Don’t we all, but it really kicks the stuffing out of vulnerable Leos. And like all Fixed signs, Leos are slow healers.

Leos birthright is to be proud and dignified and creatively self-expressed. Unfortunately, their pluckiness (a.k.a. arrogance) can beckon bullies towards them to “take them down a peg or two”.

I believe all of us have been bullied at some point in our lives but from what I have seen, Leos have particularly harrowing bully events, because of that surprising amount of insecurity they keep under wraps. This means that being bullied can really shake their natural confidence to the core, and inhibit their ability as risk takers.

To me, there is nothing sadder than seeing a beaten lion or lioness. It's tantamount to a dehorned ram. 

However, a worse thing that can happen to a bullied Leo is for them to become bullies themselves. This is a terrible waste of their abundant life force. And I have seen it happen up close and personal.

Leo bullies will sometimes get themselves into positions of power and then will abuse their power over others. They might workout to get really buff and then throw their weight around by literally throwing people around. Leos can roar with rage and indignation when confronted on their antics- HOW DARE YOU CRITICIZE ME?!?- and man, it ain't pretty. 

Leos are meant to lead and inspire. They are meant to teach and instruct, as they are the teaching sign of the zodiac. At their best, Leos are the people who are picking the underdog up out of the dirt and using their power to push the bully back, or to shine a light upon the injustice. At their most magnanimous, they are the ones who lift up others and help bring the best out of them so they can fight for themselves. 

If you are the proud parent of a little Leo, make sure to step in if you see them being bullied by a sibling or a school thug so they do not internalize or externalize their suffering. Help them to process their experience of bullying so it can strengthen their kindness and empathy for others.

And most definitely help them to express their abundant creativity.

Every sign has some creativity in them, but Leos naturally possess A LOT of colour and capital P pizzazz. 

Leos will struggle with their egos because they are fiery and big, like an unwieldy firehose! It's what they are meant to figure out in this lifetime: How to wrangle their excessive pride by not playing the role of victim to get out of trouble, or victimizer to silence criticism. This journey requires humility and humour and it is so important for them to use honest self-reflection to BECOME their best and brightest selves.

Because when Sun-ruled Leo self-actualizes and shines- we ALL benefit!!!
