How astrology found me

Astrology seemed destined to find me.
I had a roommate in University whose sister-in-law was studying to become an astrologer and she asked if she could do my chart for practice because we had never met. It came in the mail- 12 pages of beautifully handwritten notes. It’s accuracy freaked me out so much I didn’t share it with anyone. At the time I was identifying as an agnostic existentialist and I did not like the idea that my destiny might be written somewhere. I still don’t.
I thanked the sister-in-law for her gift then tucked it away and promptly forgot about it.
A few years later, while managing a cafe in Halifax, I hired two women at different times with no idea that they were both budding astrologers. They talked about the subject a lot. I politely refused to tell them what my sign was but one of them eventually guessed it correctly. Evelyn, or Eve, and I became good friends.
Eve was an amazing astrologer, even as she was learning about the subject, and the more she talked about it, the more I got drawn in. When she explained how transits worked, I realized that astrology is dynamic and the planets are constantly affecting our charts, therefore our lives, and that really blew me away.
Ever generous Eve nurtured my growing interest by gifting me a reading with her astrology teacher, Patricia Collins.
Patricia made a warm impression as a very down-to-earth, spirited & intelligent woman. We sat at her kitchen table for two hours while she delineated my natal chart. It was incredible. Follow her on You Tube if you can- as she is very wise and her videos are wonderful.
When I asked my burning question “What about Free Will?” she explained to me why astrology would give me more power over my life, not less. THIS is what has proven itself true to me about astrology, and will always keep me with it.
